Age: 12 years old and over (Born in 2013 and before)

Participation: Baltic Sea Championships is open for all EJU, AJU, JUA, OJU, PJC and IJF Member Federations. There is no limit in the number of participation for each weight category for the clubs.

Duration: Pre cadets U15 - 3 minutes, cadets U17, juniors U20 and seniors 4 minutes

Accreditation & Control of Nationality:

Passports or photocopies of passports from all competitors must be available if request (national ID Card showing nationality and date of birth or a copy is also accepted).

You  must  register  the whole team!

Competition Formula:
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the latest IJF Refereeing rules.
Competition systems according to number of participants:

  • 6 and more entries: Double repechage

  • 3,4,5 entries: Round robin

  • 2 entries: better of 2 fights, if 1-1 there will be a third match that determines the winner

Draw:
The draw will take place on Saturday and sunday before the age category starts.

Weigh-in:
Official weigh-in for each weight category takes place the day before the competition day or on the competition day, see program. (If you compete on both Saturday and Sunday, you can weight-in on Friday to both categories.) Athletes must present their passport (National ID Cards showing nationality, photo and date of birth are also accepted).

Refereeing:
Foreign referees with an international A/B license or a national A/B license are welcome. We offer accommodation and meals on competition days. Referees and coaches are welcome to the banquet on Saturday.

Referee meeting will be held on Saturday and Sunday morning at 08:00.
The attendance to the Referee meeting is strictly compulsory.

Coaching:
All coaches must fully adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judo Coaches. Coaches need register to get coach passport – coaches registration

 In case of any damage to hotel property or competition venue caused by members of a delegation, their clubs will be charged by the organizing committee.

Transport:

Airport: Helsinki Vantaa airport (HEL) – Lahti/Orimattila – Helsinki Vantaa airport (HEL)

Transportation: Organizer will arrange transfers between the airport and the competition venue/hotel only for those who book accommodation through the organizer in advance.

Transportation is arranged for an additional fee 60 € per person. If participants need transportation, please fill in the following form before November 16, 2025.

All bank fees and money transfer costs must be paid by the sender.


Countries that cannot make bank transfers are entitled to pay in cash upon arrival, without any surcharge, if they inform the organizer in advance. Cancellations received a week before the competition, we will charge the full fee.

Judogi Control - Approved Judogi:
Judokas must have both white and blue judogi, except Pre cadets U15 are allowed to have only white judogi. Judogi sizes must meet IJF rules, but do not need to be "red label" judogi.

Judogi Control:
It will be operated with a Sokuteiki prior to the fight.

Backnumber:
Backnumber recommended. Backnumber include surnames and National Olympic Committee abbreviation. The backnumber can be ordered from www.mybacknumber.com or www.ijfbacknumber.com (Attention: production and delivery may take around 4 weeks). 

Responsibility of Federations/Teams:
The competitors will compete under the full responsibility of their federations. 

Insurance: Each national federation/club is responsible for insuring its competitors against “injury and third party risk (public liability)” during the period of the event. The organizer declines all responsibility.

Anti-Doping:
Anti-doping tests might be executed according to the IJF MEDICAL AND ANTI-DOPING HANDBOOK. Testers can visit in the competition venue.
Media:
All photos and videos are disposal of the organizer. Matches can be tracked live from the organizer's site www.orimattilanjudo.fi and on Facebook: Baltic championships.

Visa:
For nations that need VISA to enter Finland: after your payment has arrived to the bank, the organizer will send an invitation to your team.
